Description

To permit one 36-storey mixed-use building, which will span across two lots, for a private student residence use. There will be a total of 426 dwelling units, and 220.5 m² of non-residential retail uses (at-grade) within this building. The properties municipally known as 208 Bloor Street West and 210 Bloor Street West are currently under separate ownership and governed by separate Site-Specific Zoning By-laws (By-law 782-2022(OLT), and By-law 778-2024). In the near future, both properties will merge on title under one single entity to facilitate this new development. There is a current Site Plan Control application (No. 21 220574 STE 11 SA) which is currently under review and consideration.

Comparison with similar applications

Lobbied applications are compared only with unlobbied applications of the same type, in the same ward, submitted in the same year and of the same size band (units or floor area from the description; sub-type for Committee of Adjustment files). Unlobbied applications are weighted to match the lobbied group. Raw lobbied versus unlobbied averages are not reported.

Submission to hearing. Approval and refusal rates are among applications with a recorded decision.

Large and complex applications attract both lobbying and longer reviews, and matching cannot remove every difference between applications, so a difference does not show that lobbying changed how an application was reviewed.

Lobbyists choose whom to contact, so a difference does not show a change of mind.
