Description

To alter the existing place of worship (Danforth Church) by demolishing the southern portion of the building and constructing a rear eight-storey addition, including one-storey side (east and west) additions as outlined in Site Plan Application 23 110029 STE 14 SA. The new addition will front Bowden Street and will provide 32 affordable dwelling units and 18 bedsitting rooms. The northern portion of the existing place of worship (fronting Danforth Avenue) and the southeastern tower (fronting Bowden Street) will be retained. The current application is also necessitated to correctly identify variances (as cited in Variance Numbers 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 below) that were not requested in Minor Variance Decision A0404/23TEY.

Comparison with similar applications

Lobbied applications are compared only with unlobbied applications of the same type, in the same ward, submitted in the same year and of the same size band (units or floor area from the description; sub-type for Committee of Adjustment files). Unlobbied applications are weighted to match the lobbied group. Raw lobbied versus unlobbied averages are not reported.

Submission to hearing. Approval and refusal rates are among applications with a recorded decision.

Large and complex applications attract both lobbying and longer reviews, and matching cannot remove every difference between applications, so a difference does not show that lobbying changed how an application was reviewed.

Lobbyists choose whom to contact, so a difference does not show a change of mind.
