Description

To convert the existing rear one-storey detached ancillary building (containing a one-car garage and storage area) into one garden suite. The conversion will include constructing a one-storey side (north and west) addition, a partial second storey addition along the side (south and east) walls, a side (south) covered porch, and a raised roof. This current application is necessitated to identify the variances related to this ancillary building (currently under construction beyond the limits of the authorized building permit (No. 25 163582 BLD 00 SR)). There will be a total of two residential dwelling units on this lot (one unit within the main building and one unit within the ancillary building).

Comparison with similar applications

Lobbied applications are compared only with unlobbied applications of the same type, in the same ward, submitted in the same year and of the same size band (units or floor area from the description; sub-type for Committee of Adjustment files). Unlobbied applications are weighted to match the lobbied group. Raw lobbied versus unlobbied averages are not reported.

Submission to hearing. Approval and refusal rates are among applications with a recorded decision.

Large and complex applications attract both lobbying and longer reviews, and matching cannot remove every difference between applications, so a difference does not show that lobbying changed how an application was reviewed.

Lobbyists choose whom to contact, so a difference does not show a change of mind.
