Description

The application proposes to reconfigure the `walking ring¿ area of Woodbine Racetrack, including the associated entrance/arrival area, landscaping, and passenger pick-up and drop-off areas associated with the adjacent private streets to the north and west. The application also reconfigures two previously approved (but unbuilt) commercial buildings located west of the `walking ring¿ into one new commercial building having a height of 10 metres with a 4.5 metre mechanical penthouse, and 3,583 square metres of floor space. This area was subject to a previous Site Plan Approval (18 117779 WET 02 SA) for Block 8 of Plan 66M-2588 (formerly Block 9 of the approved Draft Plan of Subdivision) as part of the larger Woodbine Racetrack development.

Comparison with similar applications

Lobbied applications are compared only with unlobbied applications of the same type, in the same ward, submitted in the same year and of the same size band (units or floor area from the description; sub-type for Committee of Adjustment files). Unlobbied applications are weighted to match the lobbied group. Raw lobbied versus unlobbied averages are not reported.

Submission to the first decision status seen in our daily loads (measured from launch). Approval and refusal rates are among applications with a recorded decision.

Large and complex applications attract both lobbying and longer reviews, and matching cannot remove every difference between applications, so a difference does not show that lobbying changed how an application was reviewed.

Lobbyists choose whom to contact, so a difference does not show a change of mind.
